Exhibit by NVD
On view at the Transfer Warehouse now
Birds of Passage, by NVD, is a flock of migratory birds built during artist’ residence at the Steeprock Joinery in Sawpit from scavenged wood, cardboard and stories of migration. A treaty signed in 1936 guarantees these birds safe passage across the US–Mexico border — a border where more than a million people have just lost the legal status that let them stay. They hang in the Telluride Transfer Warehouse where everyone is invited to bear witness, an attempt to keep these stories in view. Go check them out before they migrate on!
