SKATEPARK MURAL

Location: Telluride Skatepark, Town Park

For this Telluride Skatepark project, Paul Distefano created a mural depicting a woman looking toward the mountains surrounding Telluride. The work explores resilience, reflection, and the ability to move forward, while connecting the painted figure to the landscape and community around it. For Paul, mural painting is an opportunity to create bold, accessible work that becomes part of its environment.

Gaiascope

GAIASCOPE

Location: Heritage Plaza, Mountain Village

Gaiascope is an interactive public artwork featuring three suspended kaleidoscopic sculptures. Visitors are invited to look inside mirrored chambers where original video art, light, and reflection unfold into immersive worlds of shifting color and pattern. Ursa Ravus (Penny Bear)

URSA RAVUS (PENNY BEAR)

LOCATION: 635 E Colorado Ave, Telluride

Ursa Ravus, or the Telluride Penny Bear, is 15 feet tall. Her fur is made of 187,000 embedded pennies in concrete over a body or carved styrofoam and a frame of steel tubing.
