WPL: Hope is a waking dream PART 2
Magazine Room, Wilkinson Public Library
In this second chapter of Hope is a Waking Dream, artist Sergio Gonzalez invites us to reflect on how hope moves within us — light and persistent — like the dancers who take center stage in this series of four pieces. With their delicate gestures and forward-looking gaze, these figures evoke freedom, resilience, and the drive to keep going, even when everything seems to stand still.
Sergio Gonzalez is a visual artist born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, who has lived in Telluride, Colorado, for the past 27 years. Inspired by the European surrealists of the ’70s and ’80s, Sergio has nurtured his passion for painting since childhood. In addition to being an artist, he is a professional chef who finds constant inspiration in nature and the creative arts. From his early murals in Newport Beach, California, to his current work in Telluride, Sergio weaves his love for creativity into a life dedicated to both artistic and culinary expression.
