Taught by Meredith Nemirov
Are you a doodler? Did you fill the margins of your textbooks with curious marks and squiggles? This is drawing! In this workshop students learn how artists use line to communicate ideas and portray the world around them. Whether it is searching, analytical, rhythmic or gestural, the artists’ line expresses many emotions and attitudes. Drawing the line will develop drawing skills that can be used for illustration, fine art or recording the world in your journal. A variety of tools and mediums will be used to create black and white drawings using traditional as well as contemporary drawing techniques.
Students should bring everyday pens, pencils, and markers. If possible, students should also bring kneaded erasers, vine charcoal and a sketch pad.
