Arroyo | 220 E Colorado Ave | Tuesday, Feb. 2 @ 6:00 pm

Ouray local poet and independent journalist Samantha Tisdel Wright will share the Talking Gourds Poetry Club spotlight Feb. 2nd at 6 p.m. at Arroyo’s Telluride with visiting master poet, teacher and presidential advisor Jared Smith of New York State and of late, Lafayette, Colorado.

Following Talking Gourds Poetry Club announcements and the featured performances, there will be a short intermission, after which the gourd will be passed around the room to give Club members and attendees a chance to read a poem or two. The theme for February is “Cabins.” Bring your own work or that of a favored poet to share.

Talking Gourds programming survives through the generous support of private donors and Club members. There is a one-time fee of $25 to join and get on the cyber mailing list for regular meetings and special events. And then there is a $10 annual renewal to be a member in good standing and receive half-price on Mark Fischer Poetry Prize submissions and monthly broadsides of the featured poets free. Membership forms will be available at each reading. Or can be obtained by contacting Art Goodtimes.

Club members meet monthly, on first-Tuesday evenings, at Arroyo’s Telluride at 220 E. Colorado Ave. beginning at 6 p.m. (next door to Ace Hardware).
