Free for All – Printmaking with Ann Cheeks (Adults & 16+)
Wednesday, January 20 | 6-9pm| Free!
Want to learn a new medium, dust off old skills, or just spend an evening being creative? This winter, Ah Haa hosts Free For All, a series of completely free classes in various mediums, accessible to absolute beginners as well as experienced artists. Here is your chance to try your hand at something new and dive into the creative process. What are you waiting for?
Spend an evening exploring two methods of printmaking while creating unique, handmade artwork for personal greetings or gifts. Students will learn linocut techniques by carving into soft printing blocks with linoleum cutters and printing with water-soluble inks. Monoprint techniques will also be taught for creating looser, more abstract images. All students should come away with no fewer than five images from each printmaking technique, and the skills to create more on their own with a few low-cost tools. (Linocut designs can be taken home and used again and again to create additional cards or other artwork.)
PLEASE NOTE: Although there is no fee for this class, pre-registration is required.
