Margaret Rinkevich will give an art history lecture on October 14th from 6pm - 8pm at the Wilkinson Public Library, in conjunction with Robert Weatherford's  'Reinventing Still Life' Telluride Painting School course.  Robert's Telluride Painting School course will run Monday - Friday, October 12 - 23 from 9am - 1pm.


Artist and art historian Margaret holds a B.A. in art history from the University of Arizona, where she specialized in Italian Renaissance.  She participated in two archeological excavations in Umbria, Italy, and later taught European art history at Northern Arizona University.  While studying the history and function of African masquerades during a post-graduate program at the University of Illinois, she contributed to a museum exhibition entitled Transformations/Translations: African Art from the Krannert Art Museum and co-produced a publication of the same name.  She also worked at contemporary art galleries in Santa Fe, NM.


Artist Robert Weatherford is the artistic director for the school's Telluride Painting Academy. Weatherford's work can be found in a number of galleries and private collections. Among his accomplishments is a series of 17 paintings for a children's book titled Desert Dog, commissioned by the Sierra Club Books and released in fall 2001.
